不動産関連の英語を、英語で調べました。
単なる日本語訳で覚えるだけではなく、英語を英語で理解することにより、よりネイティブが使う感覚に近づけると信じています。
また、そうすることで、英語を英語として使いこなせるはずだ、とも思います。
この記事では、不動産用語である「Register」について調べました。
■日本語での意味
「登記簿謄本(全部事項証明書)」の定義です。

全部事項証明書には土地と建物それぞれあります。
公的機関から発行されるもので、発行者は法務局です。
また、過去の所有者が誰だったのか、今いくらの抵当権が設定されているのか、または過去にいくらの抵当権が設定されていたのか等、過去の履歴が記載されています。
全部事項証明書は、対象となる不動産の登記簿が作成されてから現在までの権利関係が全て記載されています。
そのため、不動産の売買にあたり、現在の所有者の確認のために使われます。
■英英辞書の定義
登記簿謄本(全部事項証明書)のことを、英語で「register」と言います。

この中で登記簿謄本に関係ありそうな定義は、①と⑫でしょうか。
両方ともに、「official list」という共通wordがあります。
また、その「list」の対象となるのが「the names」です。
例示として、「all the people」、「companies」etcがあります。
この「etc」の中に「real estate」が含まれています。
つまり、公的機関である法務局が発行する登記簿謄本(全部事項証明書)は、
「real estate」の「name」に関する「official list」、という訳です。
ちなみに、⑫の定義には「of a particular type」とあります。
「type」は英語的に考えると、「similar」な「things」の「group」です。
「particular」とは、「specific」、対象となる一つのことであり、「area」や「subject」を「exact」に特定することです。
つまり、「land」や「building」の「type」のうち、「particular」に対象となる不動産を特定した情報こそ、「register」、登記簿謄本ということです。
